Growing up in India, I loved the smell of roses. I would close my eyes and remember times with the rose bush in the house, on the streets and parks while walking or at weddings. London streets have these roses that float the intoxicating perfume in the air. We were lucky to visit that in summer with kids so the roses were everywhere. I learned there were many different species and the colors were unbelievable. To bring that into my artwork was difficult so I took a long time to finish this painting. London roses is made on canvas with acrylic paints and I am very happy with the blending of leaves and movement of petals from one to another is fun to watch.
Now when you take this scarf on your travels, match it up with roses from anywhere in the world. I would love to see how far can you go.
